Hi, I’m Kate.
I know the feeling of walking into a room where you don’t know a soul — and how one warm welcome can change the whole night. Creating that feeling, on purpose, is why I plan events.
I’ve spent much of my adult life calling other places home: Spain, Australia, South Korea. Each one gathered differently — dinners that ran past midnight, barbecues that drifted down to the beach, tables crowded with plates meant for sharing. And as an Asian American who has navigated identity across cultures, I’ve learned that belonging is never an accident. Someone has to design it.
That’s been my work for more than a decade, in marketing, events and community building: launching programs from scratch, shaping brands and connecting people across cultures and industries. I treat every event as a chance to tell your story and spark relationships that outlast the night — and I’ll wear whatever hat it takes to get there, right down to the last detail.
Home base is Portland, Oregon, where I plan everything from fundraising galas and company retreats to backyard birthdays. Off the clock, you’ll find me looking for any excuse to be on the water, testing recipes in my kitchen or sewing something new to wear to the next celebration.
